🌙 Introduction to Islam

Islam, meaning "submission to the will of Allah," is a faith of peace, guidance, and mercy that began over 1400 years ago with the revelations received by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. With the Qur’an as its holy book and the Sunnah (prophetic traditions) as its guide, Islam offers a comprehensive way of life that shapes one’s beliefs, actions, and character.

At the heart of Islam are the Five Pillars — the foundational acts of worship and obedience that define a Muslim’s faith:

• Shahada (Faith): Declaring that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad ﷺ is His messenger.
• Salah (Prayer): Performing five daily prayers to connect with Allah spiritually.
• Zakat (Charity): Giving to the needy to purify wealth and uplift society.
• Sawm (Fasting): Observing the fast in Ramadan to develop self-discipline and empathy.
• Hajj (Pilgrimage): Performing the pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in a lifetime, if able.
